Touching on the main purpose of this festival, this festival has alway played a role as a catalyst to increase the public awareness as well as instilling interest for the arts. Embracing the many different cultures world-wide as it continues to showcase international world class performances, it also seeks to create new cultural platforms for local artists.
I personally feel that the locals would be inspired by the various spectacular art productions and I do feel that it would indeed set their imagination on fire where we can expect to see spin-offs by our local artists in the near future.
This is especially since the art festival is the result of collaborating contemporary art form with the rich culture that Asia possess. It is no longer exclusively modern art, but it is a blend of both and revitalizes the Asian culture into something fresh and exciting.
I also felt that this festival makes the city more vibrant, as a cosmopolitan city, Singapore is a perfect example of a modern hectic city with high skyscrappers and buildings where life is filled with workloads over-pacing you and indvidual focuses on their career and aspirations with little time spent on leisure and this festival provides opportunity and awareness to appreciate life and the different forms of art.
This festival is also part of Singapore’s effort to establish itself as the hub of Asia for art as it is a key platform for many Asian talents as well international performances. I feel that with Singapore being that, it can actually place Singapore on the map as a top-notch destination with exciting activities and performances to do and watch.
